Udaipur, a mesmerising haven, nestled amidst lakes and breathtaking panoramas, where the convergence of mountains, sky, and temple spires unfolds, has been a perennial muse for creative minds. The city's murals and artworks, meticulously portraying vibrant depictions of imagined flora, fauna, majestic beasts, and regal birds, along with formidable princes, have served as the wellspring of inspiration for our meticulously crafted objects of brass and stone inlay.
Art and devotion are deeply intertwined in Indian tradition, particularly in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, where devotees of Shrinathji, an incarnation of the child god Krishna, have long expressed a deep love for their deity through painting. Among the textiles that surround this idol is the Pichwai which literally translates to ‘that which hangs at the back’. Our take on Pichwai features the same motifs distinctive to the artform – elegantly rendered cows, tropical plants, tumbling clouds – delicately etched in brass flatware.

Pietra Dura
In the ancient history of artistic expression, Pietra Dura emerges as a radiant gem. Originating from Italy and celebrated as Parchin Kari in the vibrant Indian subcontinent, this revered technique transcends boundaries of mere adornment, transforming into a profound symphony of visual artistry.
Rooted in the opulent courts of Rome and flourishing in the artistic haven of Florence, Pietra Dura is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of inlaying highly polished coloured stones, creating intricate narratives or patterns that dance with life itself. Its journey to the Mughal courts of India as Parchin Kari imbued iconic landmarks like the majestic Taj Mahal with a sumptuous grandeur that continues to awe and inspire.
